Resilient Panda History’s Streams: Korean American History Guide
As a special AAPI Heritage Month exception to my “books only” policy, I reviewed Resilient Panda History’s “Streams: Korean American History” guide. This 20-page guide spans Korean American history from 1880 to the present, designed for 1st to 6th graders, but adaptable for all ages. Each lesson includes a curated list of resources, from poetry and picture books to online videos. Read more on Instagram.
This Month’s Spotlight Interview: Angel Halo Chang
This month I committed to making author/illustrator interviews a regular feature on my website. Going forward, schedule permitting, I’ll be posting monthly spotlight interviews on my website.
For June's Spotlight, I had the pleasure of interviewing Angel Halo Chang, children’s book author/illustrator and Kickstarter creator extraordinaire. I really enjoy Angel’s fun and quirky personality, which shines through in her books. We talked about her professional journey and her latest Kickstarter campaign for three new books that teach foundational concepts while celebrating Asian cultures.
This Month’s Curated Booklists
Here are a couple curated booklists from my Amazon Storefront that might interest you! Please note that the books shown in the graphic may not constitute the entire list as I update them on an ongoing basis.
Discover books that celebrate and educate about the Dragon Boat Festival (June 10 this year)! Explore the list.
This list contains books that feature and celebrate fathers – perfect for Father’s Day on June 16. We gifted my husband “Good Job, Dad!” by Holman Wang last year for Father’s Day and he loved it! Explore the list.
